Ohio: Campbell Hill
1,550 ft (472 m)
Ohio’s highest point, Campbell Hill, sits at 1,550 feet (472 meters) and feels more like a community landmark than a wilderness destination. Located in the town of Bellefontaine, it’s just outside a technical college campus, with a sign, flagpole, and picnic area marking the summit. The site once served as a Cold War–era Air Force radar station before being repurposed for education and public access. Today, the highpoint is fully accessible and easy to visit—no hike required. What it lacks in elevation, it makes up for in friendliness and simplicity. Visitors can walk right up, snap a photo, and check another state off the list. For highpointers, Campbell Hill is a quick and easy stop that still counts—proof that every state has its own highest point, even if it’s more sidewalk than summit.
