Cerro Las Minas, also called Celaque, is Honduras’s highest peak at 2,849 meters (9,347 feet).  As the tallest mountain in the most mountainous country of Central America — and one of the few nations in the region without active volcanoes — it offers a unique and serene hiking experience.  Located within Celaque National Park, Cerro Las Minas features challenging trails that wind through misty cloud forests teeming with wildlife, including colorful quetzals, rare orchids, and towering pines.
