Argentina: Aconcagua

22,837 ft (6,961 m)

Rising to an impressive 6,961 meters (22,837 feet), Aconcagua is not only Argentina’s highest peak, but also the tallest mountain in both the Southern and Western Hemispheres. Nestled in the heart of the Andes near the Chilean border, this iconic giant draws climbers from around the globe seeking to conquer one of the Seven Summits. With its stunning glacial slopes, dramatic landscapes, and relatively non-technical routes, Aconcagua offers both challenge and accessibility. However, reaching the summit still presents challenges—high altitude, strong winds, and unpredictable weather test even the most seasoned mountaineers.
